Lets' talk about how we can achieve the best quality of life possible by assisting our bodies to function the way they were designed to. Our body, our being is truly a miracle! We are provided with everything we need to know if we just take a moment to listen to it. God /the Universe/ Truth speak to us through what we are feeling (on all levels) through our body, mind and spirit. Things such as giving and receiving love, kindness, respect trust and joy are just a few things that would be considered good spiritual fuel. With proper fueling our quality of life in turn would improve as a result. On the flip side toxic spiritual fuel would be things like negativity, unkindness, un forgiveness, guilt, rage, stress, lying, lack of integrity etc. Our body, mind and spirit continually intermingle with one another. God speaks to us through our body all the time, even though many of us do not always like what is being brought to our attention. With that in mind rather than blame ourselves wouldn't it be better to take responsibility and come from a place of knowing that there are better choices available to us and become more conscious of what our bodies and souls are ingesting on a daily basis.
American guidelines for nutrition have changed numerous times through the years it's a wonder people in this country are confused while getting more unhealthy and over weight.
Through my own personal experiences and working with clients for the past 18 years I have learned a great deal more than just how stay stay thin and fit looking. The more in touch we are with our body and soul we become the more we can assist our bodies to function with ease rather than dis-ease.
Americans are continuing to gain weight and be more stressed, while good health is decreasing. One of the biggest concerns today is the increasing number of health issues. Along with allergies, depression, diabetes, cancer, fibromialgia and chronic fatigue. Look at the climbing numbers of children being diagnosed with ADD/ADHD and the amount of people being prescribed antidepressants and anti anxiety medications. It hurts me deeply to see people suffering or have poor quality of life when I know there are other options available. Which is why I am so committed to teaching people that they do have choices and answers and that it is never too late to feel better.
From a Holistic standpoint, medications, painkillers and surgeries do not address the deeper issues at hand rather than masking what are body and soul are trying to communicate so in my opinion are last resort. Research has proven that nutrition, mind set and belief system have everything to do with how our bodies reactions.
I know from my own experience over the past several years how by changing my self talk and behaviors, shifting my belief system, fueling my body better nutritionally, practicing forgiveness and letting go of guilt and blame rather than turning to unhealthy substances has completely changed my life as I once knew it.
Having a toxic environment on any level is the cause for most ailments and dis-eases (because our body and soul are not at ease.) Things like skin problems (acne, psoriasis etc) mental well being (depression, ADD/ADHD) intestinal issues (gas, bloating, ulcers, colitis, candidas) and holding onto excess weight which may lead to heart disease and diabetes.
Being out of balance in any area usually effects other areas as well like relationships. Did you know Men's Dopamine levels decrease and Women's Serotonin levels decrease when we are nutritionally depleted?
What does that mean? Most Americans do not get the proper nutrition they need to balance their sugar and hormone levels. Which in turn results in Men having low Dopamine levels leading to lower attention span, lack of enthusiasm or drive (mostly at home) low energy, irritability, inflexibility etc. Research has shown that most children diagnosed with ADD/ADHD are male. When these children were tested very child in the study had low Dopamine levels...amazing? coincidence? Next they tested male prison mates ( which again are predominately male) and concluded the same results. All this information came from documented research.
As for Women nutritional imbalances which deplete Serotonin levels result in low self esteem, depression, PMS, postpartum depression, taking things more personally and feeling overwhelmed. Studies have suggested that much more women suffer from depression than men. In turn women try to overcompensate by taking care of everyone except themselves, to get a quick fix for feeling good. But in the long run it doesn't work so well, they get more depleted by not ever addressing their original needs. This is when resentment and feeling taken for granted can come into play.
What has happened is that rather than going to the source of the problem people are being treated for the symptoms with a band aid solutions such as medications and painkillers rather than going deeper and uncovering the underlying cause.
The good news is their is much we can do to fuel our bodies easily and efficiently on every level with proper guidance.
